Colossal Chocolate Brownie Ice Cream:This ice cream starts with a creamy, no-churn base and is filled with an assortment of chocolate. From fudgy chunks of brownie and chocolate chips, to a hot fudge swirl, this recipe will be sure to please all chocolate lovers!
Hey there! Pardon my unintentionally long absence, I went on vacation and intended to post while away but never could find the time (so much for sticking to a regular posting schedule)! However, stepping away from all life responsibilities for 12 days was absolutely lovely, I must confess…
Anyway, so here I am with the (long overdue) follow-up to my last recipe. As a refresher, a little while back I attempted to recreate two of my favorite Creations from Cold Stone Creamery. One I posted last month, but now have the finale for you today. (If you want the full scoop (pun intended) on these recipes, please read my last post.) Also, a reminder that these recipes are my own twist on the original Creations from CSC and not intended to be an exact copycat, so please don’t expect a perfect replica – except for these s’mores frappuccinos, the copycat recipe department is not my specialty…
OK, details, we need details. Here’s what you need to know about this Colossal Chocolate Brownie Ice Cream; what would be known as the “Chocolate Devotion” Creation at Cold Stone.
This recipe is an absolute explosion of chocolate, i.e. my kind of recipe. What we have going on is this:
- A creamy, no-churn chocolate base.
- A generous amount of fudgy brownie chunks (the best part!).
- Mini chocolate chips for a little crunch and some extra chocolate – because a little extra chocolate never hurt anyone.
- A hot fudge swirl, for finishers.
Every element complements the other beautifully to create a magnificent symphony of chocolate. Oh my, you guys… I wish I could wave a magic wand and have some right now, it is that good.
There are a couple of things to note, but because I’m lazy (and because I also want to give my full attention to eating dinner and watching this baseball game on in front of me – #baseballnerd), I’m going to copy and paste the notes I made from the last recipe that apply here as well.
For the brownie, I used a box mix. I did this because I thought it would give a better end result when mixed with the ice cream and also, there really didn’t seem to be a need to go through the extra step of making them homemade. But don’t let me stop you from making a batch of homemade brownies, if that’s what you prefer!
For the fudge swirl, I did go the homemade route – again going with what I thought would give me the best results – and made a batch of this delicious hot fudge (it’s like pouring chocolate ganache on top of your ice cream; so chocolaty, smooth, and silky). This I made first and allowed it to cool at room temperature for about an hour. The recipe yields about a (16 oz) mason jar’s worth – the leftovers were used for another batch of ice cream, and of course for pouring in ridiculous amounts on top of both batches of ice cream.
And that’s all you need to know! This Colossal Chocolate Brownie Ice Cream is super simple, super delicious, and super awesome. So make a batch and indulge the chocolate senses!
